Have you ever felt like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole?
That is how I felt.
My skillset no longer belongs in a specific role, industry, or sector. It belongs in several roles, industries, and sectors.
This can be frustrating at times, especially when I encounter resistance or rejection from others who do not see the value of my diverse background and experience. But it also makes me excited about the future, the next phase in my career, the possibilities that await me…
Being a square peg in a round hole has its advantages. It allows me to:
✅ Be creative and innovative. I can bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table and solve problems in unconventional ways.
✅ Challenge the status quo. I can question assumptions and norms and inspire change and innovation.
✅ Stand out from the crowd. I can highlight my unique strengths and talents and differentiate myself from others who have similar qualifications or credentials.
✅ Learn from others. I can benefit from the skills and experiences of people who are different from me and expand my knowledge and network.
✅ Find my niche and create my own opportunities. I can identify gaps and needs in the market and offer solutions that are tailored to my target audience.
